The foundation conference of PGWFI in 2005 at Haldia, West Bengal declared that it is going to hold nationwide TU activities in unison to other fraternal TUs so long they work for the interest of working class and progress towards building a cemented bondage with international TU movement in Oil & Gas sector.

In connection to the above, wise delegation comprising leaders of various important constituent unions of PGWFI attended a good nos. of TU conferences across the country and at different parts of the globe. As well, leaders of World Federation of Trade Unions and respected leaders of many other countries have participated our conferences in different occasions over this period and shared their experiences, problems faced by them and their struggles enriching ourselves. Some of the important occasions outside the country participated by our delegations are as under:

• Attended Conference of Oil & Gas workers at Venezuela.
• Attended Conference of FNIC of CGT, Bordeaux, France.
• Attended Conference at Japan.
• Attended Conference of TUs at Paris, France etc.

Similarly, international delegations from across the world participated all of our national conferences.

Upcoming Programs:

The central Executive Committee meeting of PGWFI was held in New Delhi 0n 10th March’2016 which was presided over by Com: Pradeep Mayekar. In the meeting, the issue of falling down of crude price and its impact on working people and Indian oil industries were discussed in details. The meeting also discussed the proposal of Mega Strategic Sale of oil PSUs by the central Govt. Finally, the following decisions have been unanimously taken in the meeting. All affiliated unions are requested to implement the decisions.


• Week long protest program will be observed from 28th march’16 to 2nd April’16 by holding general, gate meeting, dharna, black badge wearing etc against the Govt. proposal of Mega Strategic Sale of oil PSUs.

• During the protest week, FAX, e-mail to be sent to the President of India and copy to PM, FM and CM, CMD and MD of the respective oil PSUs. The content of the message-“STOP MEGA STRATEGIC SALE INCLUDING ANY FORM OF DISINVESTMENT OF OIL PSU”.

• Mumbai ONGC union shall organize a seminar during April-May’16 at Mumbai.

• MRPL ® union shall also organize a seminar. Date will be fixed later on.

• Next EC meeting of our federation will be held at Massena, Gujarat in the month of June’16. The meeting will be for two days, one for EC meeting and another day for Workshop for next round of wage settlement.

• One contract labor national convention will be held in the month of July’16 at New Delhi. Affiliated unions are requested to send data on contract labor of their area mentioning wage rate, other benefits, nature of job, number of contract labor etc.
